The recently released Tomb Raider has debuted at the top of the UK all-formats all-prices chart and has enjoyed the biggest launch of 2013 to date, outselling the year’s previous most successful launch, Aliens: Colonial Marines, by more than two to one, according to retail monitor Chart-Track.
Despite a shambolic and controversial launch which left many people unable to play the game they had paid for, EA’s SimCity made a successful debut at no.2, although the same couldn’t be said for Nintendo 3DS exclusive Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, which failed to break into the top 40 of the same chart.
