Tony Hawk Shreds On in Pro Skater 5

He’s back. Tony Hawk’ss back and he’s grinding back onto two generations of consoles, Pro Skater-style.

We’ve known for a little while that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was really happening, but today, it’s a whole lot more real. Activision’s shared some official behind-the-scenes footage of it in cooperation with Sony with some special Playstation-exclusive features.

Tony Hawk games are all about – you guessed it – skating, and Activision’s promised that Pro Skater 5‘s intent on recapturing the series’ signature style, a.k.a. fitting in as much combo-crazy gameplay as possible. Pro Skater 5‘s being handled by Robomodo and Disruptive Games and published by, of course, Activision. You can check out some of its latest screenshots below.

Pro Skater will reportedly feature a variety of skateboarding pros, including Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Riley Hawk, Aaron “Jaws” Homoki, Lizzie Armanto, Leticia Bufoni, David Gonzalez, Andrew Reynolds, Ishod Wair, and Tony Hawk – or whatever skater you can slap together yourself.

Naturally, Pro Skater 5 will boast a hefty amount of online content like your typical leaderboards, missions, and competitive matchmaking with up to twenty players.

In the vein of Little Big Planet, players can also build their own skateparks and share them online on Playstation 4 and only the Playstation 4 version – sorry Playstation 3. In the meantime, you can check out the behind-the-scenes video below.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this September 29th. The PS3 version is expected to release by Holiday 2015.

We hold our memories of the Pro Skater series’ early days very close to our hearts and we’ll be keeping an eye on Pro Skater 5. What about you? Are you excited for more Tony Hawk?
