<p>It&#8217;s that time of week again. Another top 5 stories of the week is coming your way. We had a few interesting developments this week in the gaming world. Nintendo has made figurines, who would have thought? Not sure who the target market is but what the heck. And we finally know when the Destiny beta will be hitting gamers. <p>Mr. Iwata announced Nintendo will be debuting special figurines at E3 2014 that can be used in a variety of games for both the Wii U and 3DS. Currently this project is being called “Nintendo Figurine Platform” or “NFP” for short.</p>
<p>It is a hope for Nintendo that these in-game playable figures will help expose Nintendo to a wider audience and boost sales. Only a Mario figure has been shown but it can be assumed that there will be a lot more characters available once the first game is for sale in retail stores.</p>
<p>More information about the figures and games will be announced at this year’s E3. Nintendo is hosting a live video presentation from their Treehouse this year in place of an E3 physical presentation. What Nintendo characters do you hope will become playable figurines? <p>XSEED Games announced <em>Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus</em> will be released to the West in Fall 2014 on the PS Vita. <em>Senran Kagura Shinovi</em> is the sequel to <em>Senran Kagura Burst</em> that was previously on the Nintendo 3DS. <em>Versus</em> was released in February 2013 in Japan. There is both single-player mode and multi-player mode.</p>
<p><em>Shinovi Verses</em> will be a digital release through PSN but a short retail edition will include a soundtrack and guidebook along with the game’s disc. The game is keeping the original Japanese voiceovers and will feature English subtitles!</p>

<p>The first screenshots of the collaboration between Gearbox Software and Telltale Games’ Tales from the Borderlands were released today. Slated to be released later this summer, the title will be true to Telltale form and be delivered to gamers as episodic content. Each chapter will cost $4.99 invidivually or you can purchase a seasons pass.</p>
<p>The content of the game is considered official Borderlands canon as it takes place after the events of Borderlands 2. The screenshots introduce players to two new characters: Fiona, a con-artist from Pandora, and Rhys, an employer of Hyperion Weapons. Each character has less than dubious agendas as they are certainly out for their own self interest. Along the way, players will meet up with some fresh faces but also encounter Zero the Assassin, who was a playable character in the last installment of Borderlands. As with all Telltale Games releases, the story will change depending on the choices the player makes. In this release, the story will be told from the perspective of Fiona and Rhys.</p>

<p>It is now North America’s turn to enjoy the PS Vita Slim! The Slim is both 15% lighter and 20% slimmer than it’s older brother. There are plenty of more upgrades for the Slim: there is now a new LCD screen, an extended battery life that will last around 4-6 hrs and a full 1 GB of built-in memory.</p>
<p>With over a 1,000 games released for the Vita alone there is plenty of titles to choose from and enjoy. Don’t forget that the PS Vita and Ps Vita Slim can sync with the PS4 and PS3 for Remote Play.</p>

<p>Activision has revealed that Bungie will be releasing a Destiny beta in July, but only for those who have pre-ordered the game on the PS3 or PS4 platforms. That will still be a lot of people as Activision has stated that Destiny is seeing a record number of pre- orders for a new IP. The announcement came at a press conference to discuss the publisher’s first quarter earnings. Thanks to Activision’s deal with Sony, it seems that Xbox gamers will have to wait a little while longer to get involved in Bungie’s latest project.</p>
<p>Destiny will release for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 9.</p>
