Leaked footage reveals that Epic was working on a real time strategy game for Kinect set in the Gears of War universe. Called Gears of War: Tactics, players were able to issue orders to their squad using only their finger. It was hoped that a Gears title would convince the hardcore to buy a Kinect.
Unfortunately this was not to be, Tactics was developed until the alpha stage but then quietly cancelled. It is unclear if the game was related in anyway to Gears of War: Exile, another leaked project that used the Kinect. You can check out the two minute video for Tactics over at VGleaks.
The Gears of War franchise has left Epic and found a new home with Black Tusk Studios, but don’t expect another instalment any time soon.
