The free to play voxel-based MMO, Trove, gets its next expansion this spring. Entitled Trove – Heroes, this expansion lets players live out their heroic fantasies by offering a new class and cityscape. The neon-infested city of Luminopolis is a skyscraper abundant section grafted onto Neon City. Luminopolis is under threat by the robotic Amperium, opposed by the Resistors, a rebel group fighting to reclaim the city.
The Vanguardian is Trove – Heroes‘ newest class. This silver-age inspired comic book hero is positioned as a paragon of strength and virtue. It uses “fluid” combat in close quarters melee encounters with effective ranged attacks for good measure. Trove – Heroes also introduces the beacon system. Much like the bat signal, this bright light shines in the sky, calling the heroes of Luminopolis to battle.
Trove – Heroes launches this spring on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Trove originally released on PC July 2015 with the console iterations following nearly two full years later in March 2017. Trove is a mixed title with a 77% positive user rating on the Steam store page and a more modest 65 Metascore on PlayStation 4.
