Developer Grip Games will be releasing their new title Foosball 2012 on the PSN for PS3 and PS Vita on July 24th. I was skeptical at first of how Grip Games thought that they could bring the tabletop game from arcades and bars onto a console and make it playable, let alone enjoyable.

After watching the above video, though, it seems that Grip has implemented a control scheme in such a way that playing foosball on analog sticks could actually work. The sticks can be used for precise control of the ball which were showcased by some slick tricks featured in the trailer.

Foosball 2012 will feature PS Move support as well as local and online multiplayer so you can ball out with your friends without having to spend a bunch of quarters. For those on the fence about picking this game up, it’s a low risk at only $7.99 and when you buy it, you get both the Vita and PS3 versions of the game.
