Twin Peaks Returns to Television in 2016

In the final episode of Twin Peaks, Laura Palmer stated she’ll see Dale Cooper again in 25 years. That was 23 years ago. As we near the 25th year since the finale, it seems that we’ll finally be getting a continuation to one of the most best TV series of the 1990’s. Showtime will be airing nine brand new episodes of Twin Peaks in 2016 with creator David Lynch planning to direct all of them. The original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will be writing the scripts as well. They have stated that this will not be a reboot or a revival, but an honest sequel to the events that occurred in the final season. So, don’t worry, this won’t be like that prequel movie Fire Walk With Me. There is no word yet on the casting, but one would hope that most of the cast would be returning. Both Lynch and Frost have been taking to Twitter their excitement and how they’re very much looking forward to returning to the show. This announcement comes just a few months after the release of the Twin Peaks Blu-ray boxed set. Lynch and Frost couldn’t have picked a better time to delve back into the show and finally answer the questions that have been lingering in our minds for years.
