A new free games program is coming for Twitch Prime members. Twitch has announced they will offer free games every month similar to the PS Plus Free Games and Xbox Games With Gold programs.
Partially due to the response of their Indie Amplifier program. The program is called Free Games With Prime and will start March 15 with five games for PC. The list of games are Superhot, Shadow Tactics, Tales from Candlekeep, Oxenfree, and Mr Shifty.
The eight games from the Indie Amplifier program will all be available through the Free Games With Prime program in the coming months. They will include Treadnauts, Tomb of Annihilation, and I, Hope among others.
These games will be available until the end of the month and should you decide to get them, they will be yours forever. The games will be available starting on the 15th and will be free until March 31. When April rolls around, you can pick up five more games through the month. April’s games will include Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars.
Until this announcement, Twitch only offered a free game occasionally along with ad-free viewing, in-game items for some games for Prime members. When compared to their console counterparts, Xbox Games With Gold program gives four games across two consoles, however, they are backwards compatible. PlayStation usually offers six free games across their three platforms, with some being available via Cross-Buy. However, starting next year, PS Plus will only offer their free games for PS4 users as they will drop the free games for PS3 and Vita.
