Ubisoft Executive Director Would Like a Wii U Price Cut

<p>Speaking to <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;edge-online&period;com&sol;news&sol;ubisoft-exec-wants-a-wii-u-price-cut&sol;">Edge<&sol;a> in an interview recently&comma; Ubisoft&&num;8217&semi;s executive director for EMEA territories <span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 13px&semi;">Alain Corre stated that he would like to see a price cut for Nintendo&&num;8217&semi;s Wii U&period; He believes that when a system isn&&num;8217&semi;t selling very well&comma; its respective games don&&num;8217&semi;t do well either&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;We always want the hardware to be at a low price because we want as many fans as possible to afford to buy our games&comma; so that’s for sure&period; We think that Wii U will find its public at some point&period; Some were expecting sales to be quicker but we are optimistic&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I think Nintendo has said that the Wii U sales in general were below expectations originally and the software tie-in ratio is also stable&comma; so I think that when less machines sell&comma; less games sell&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A lack of Wii U sales may have been a big factor in Ubisoft&&num;8217&semi;s decision to make <em>Rayman Legends<&sol;em> multiplatform and delay it until the Fall&comma; however&comma; Ubisoft has had a couple of games that have only appeared on the Wii U since it launched last year&comma; such as the console exclusives <em>ZombiU<&sol;em> and <em>Rabbids Land<&sol;em>&semi; a launch that Corre says was &&num;8216&semi;productive&period;&&num;8217&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It’s part of the Ubsoft DNA to be first on new technology and to innovate – and also release some games that have created some good momentum that we can use for the future&period; If we globalize all that we did and consider all of that then what we did on Wii U for launch was productive&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lbrace;Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;edge-online&period;com&sol;news&sol;ubisoft-exec-wants-a-wii-u-price-cut&sol;">Edge-Online<&sol;a>&rcub;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
