UK Retailers Begin Finalising WiiU Launch Prices

<p>With Nintendo not being allowed to set the RRP for their upcoming WiiU console in the UK&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s up to the retailers themselves to decide how they&&num;8217&semi;re going to price the hotly anticipated hardware for launch on November 30th&period; Those retailers&comma; however&comma; are already relatively close to coming up with prices for the console&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>MCV were told by one of their unlisted sources that we can expect them to set the Basic Pack &lpar;a white model with 8GB of storage and a Gamepad&rpar; at £250&comma; the Premium Pack &lpar;a black unit with 32GB of storage&comma; a Gamepad&comma; a copy of Nintendoland and the chance to buy games at a discount from the Nintendo store&rpar; to be set between £290 and £300 and the ZombiU Edition &lpar;which is the Premium Pack but with the added bonus of ZombiU and a Pro Controller&rpar; for £330&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; Gamestation sent out a tweet earlier in the day &lpar;picked up by CVG&rpar; saying that they were going to sell the Basic Pack at £210 and the Premium Pack for £250&period; Said tweet has since been deleted &lpar;hence the lack of a link&rpar;&comma; but it is rather close to MCV&&num;8217&semi;s reported suggested trade prices for the packs with the Basic Pack going for £205 and the Premium Pack going for £246&period; And&semi; even earlier in the day&comma; Amazon had a listing for the WiiU at a starting price of £199&comma; but has since taken down the listing and replaced it with a £250 one&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Putting these numbers into a converter&comma; the trade price for the Basic Pack &lpar;£205&rpar; converts into around &dollar;330 whilst the Premium Pack &lpar;£246&rpar; converts into about &dollar;396&period; Whilst inflated past their American prices &lpar;&dollar;299 and &dollar;349 respectively&rpar;&comma; that&&num;8217&semi;s still rather respectable considering the extra shipping costs and such&period; Plus&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s likely that the retailers will be tripping over themselves to have the best deal come the Christmas Rush&period; And&comma; reminder&comma; these are not finalised prices&comma; they could still go either way&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The WiiU console launches in the UK on November 30th&period; &lpar;Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;mcvuk&period;com&sol;news&sol;read&sol;how-much-is-wii-u-retail-tells-mcv-250-330&sol;0102833" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">MCV<&sol;a>&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;computerandvideogames&period;com&sol;368292&sol;uk-retail-begins-to-settle-on-wii-u-launch-prices&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">CVG<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
