Ultima Underworld Is Back With Underworld: Ascension

<p>Retro PC gamers may  remember the Ultima franchise&comma; a series of high popular RPG games that began in 1981&period; One of the most popular instalments was the 1992 dungeon crawler spin off&comma; Ultima Underworld&colon; The Stygian Abyss&period; It was one of the first RPGs to feature a first person perspective in a 3D world and was a huge inspiration behind the Deus Ex and Elder Scrolls franchises&period;The game got a sequel&comma; Ultima Underworld II&colon; Labyrinth of Worlds&comma; in 1993 but there was no third game&comma; until now&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After over 20 years the franchise is finally making a return&period; Underworld&colon; Ascension is in development at OtherSide Entertainment&comma; a new indie studio founded by the designer of the original Underworld&comma; Paul Neurath&period; Tim Stellmach&comma; the lead design for Underworld II is also on board&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There&&num;8217&semi;s little to show as of yet  but the mere fact that this game exists should be enough to excite Ultima fans&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;pcgamer&period;com&sol;2014&sol;07&sol;01&sol;underworld-rpg-franchise-returns-with-underworld-ascension&sol;">PC Gamer<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
