As the release date for Umbrella Corps lumbers towards us like the undead, survival horror enthusiasts may be wondering what is in store for them with this title. Capcom, being the good guys they are, have released some more details about the upcoming title.
In addition to this action packed video that shows off Raccoon City and everyone’s favorite Raccoon City Police Department, they’ve released DLC details. For a mere $15 more, players can purchase some retro masks for their avatars. Included in this DLC bundle are the faces of Barry Burton, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker, Leon Kennedy, and Jake Muller. The best addition in my opinion, is the inclusion of a full Hunk costume – mask and uniform included. I know that I’ll be dressed to kill as I destroy zombies throughout Raccoon City.
Umbrella Corps releases June 21 for PlayStation 4 and PC, retailing at $29.99 for the standard edition and $39.99 for the deluxe edition, which comes with the upgrade pack. Should you decide to pre-order the game there are some benefits. A Fashion Victim Pack will be included with all pre-orders, while the PS4 pre-orders will get a dynamic theme for their system. I may have to pre-order this for the PS4 so that I can have matching Resident Evil themes on my PS4 and PS3; then I can call those systems the “Gruesome Twosome”.
Personally, I was leery at first about this title. I remember getting burned pretty hard by Operation Raccoon City and have been worried that this may just be a prettier version of that title. After inspecting this trailer and seeing all the fan service Capcom is handing out, I’m a little less worried. Of course, I would rather have Resident Evil 7 or the Resident Evil 2 Remake coming out next month, but Umbrella Corps should tide me over for a bit.
