XSEED Games has announced that they are bringing Unchained Blades to the 3DS via the Nintendo eShop. Unchained Blades is a first-person dungeon clawer, but unlike most games of the genre, Unchained Blades emphasizes its story. Combat is done via a turned-based system, but there is a neat sounding Unchain system. Your party of four has the ability to unchain the monsters that you run across, and they will help you in battle with various abilities.
What is impressive is the all-star cast that worked on the title. Director Toshio Akashi (Lunar series), writer Takashi Hino (Grandia), and composer Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) make up the core of the team. There are also some big name artists that designed the characters as well, such as Toshiyuki Kubooka (Lunar), Shinichiro Otsuka (Summon Night), and Kazushi Hagiwara (Bastard!!!) led the art team.
The dungeon crawler is currently available for the PSP for download, and will be made available for the 3DS on January 3, 2013.
