Uncharted Star Says Naughty Dog Threw Out ‘8 Months’ of Story

<p>If you&&num;8217&semi;re a fan of all things Uncharted&comma; odds are you have a lot to look forward to next year with the release of its fourth installment – but it won&&num;8217&semi;t be the game Uncharted scribe Amy Hennig originally penned&comma; that much we know&period; The past year&&num;8217&semi;s seen a flood of <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;artist-michael-knowland-latest-depart-naughty-dog&sol;">Naughty Dog team members<&sol;a> leave the Sony-owned studio&comma; with Hennig&&num;8217&semi;s departure being among the most documented of them&period; According to the series&&num;8217&semi; lead star&comma;<em> <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;uncharted-4-teases-secret-drakes-island&sol;">Uncharted 4&colon; A Thief&&num;8217&semi;s End<&sol;a><&sol;em> will have even less to do with her original vision than we once thought&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Speaking with fans in a Q&amp&semi;A session at this year&&num;8217&semi;s <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;metroconventions&period;com">MetroCon<&sol;a> in Tampa Bay&comma; Florida&comma; voice actor Nolan North elaborated on the game&&num;8217&semi;s development&comma; claiming in the following excerpt that Naughty Dog had &&num;8220&semi;thrown away&&num;8221&semi; roughly 8 months of Hennig&&num;8217&semi;s script&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>&&num;8220&semi;We had shot 8 months of her story and it was all thrown away&period; The Last of Us guys came in&comma; and you have to understand&comma; new producers&comma; new people&comma; they want to do it&period; I don’t know what happened exactly&comma;&&num;8221&semi; North said&period; &&num;8220&semi;Amy is still a very dear friend of mine and she’s brilliant but the Last of Us guys were the next team there so they took over and they just wanted their own flavor&period; They got rid of some of the other people that were involved and just redid their thing&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;So it’ll be fun&comma; the tone I think is gonna be slightly different&comma;&&num;8221&semi; North continued&period; &&num;8220&semi;It has to be&comma; you know&comma; you can’t have a Robert Ludlum novel that’s going to be the same as Steven King&period; It’s just that they’re different styles&period; But it’s true to the story&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>North went on to compliment the studio&&num;8217&semi;s choice of sibling for his character of Nathan Drake&period; &&num;8220&semi;Great move they made with Troy Baker &lbrack;who&rsqb; played my brother and they knew that was going to work because Troy and I are friends and he had done Joel and they knew he and I had good rapport&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>&&num;8220&semi;No&comma; it’s going to be along the same lines with the story but I think there’ll be…I don’t know&period; I don’t know how it’ll affect the how thing and to be honest I am just as curious as everyone to see what the final product will look like&comma;&&num;8221&semi; North mused&period; &&num;8220&semi;I do know there’s trust with the Naughty Dog designers and programmers&comma; that place is still top notch and from the things I’ve seen and sound and all the stuff they’ve done&comma;
