<p>It is almost safe to say that the Unreal Engine is on every device conceivable for gaming. The engine is now compatible with Windows 8, as well as Windows RT.</p>
<p>The fact that the engine is compatible with Windows 8 surprises no-one. People with tablets however will be rather excited, as this brings a fairly smooth engine to mobile and tablet platforms.</p>
<p>Epic showcased the engine running on a tablet, noting that the demo uses &#8220;full DirectX 9 pipeline, with shaders and materials,&#8221; and also that it is not a &#8220;modified mobile version&#8221;.</p>
