Uplay May Sell 3rd Party Titles In The Future

You know that Uplay thing that appears a lot in some of Ubisoft’s games? If you’ve played any of the Assassin’s Creed games since AC2, you’ve probably seen it in action. Well now it seems like Ubisoft is toying around with the idea of expanding on Uplay by selling games that don’t come from them.

In an interview with MVC, Ubisoft’s own Stephanie Perotti talked about what the plans are for Uplay as it moves into the future.

“We remain open to opportunities,” Said Perotti. “Right now, we’re starting the service with our own games, but as we go forward, we plan to potentially add other titles.”

Steam and Origin will most likely come to mind as this develops, but Ubisoft states that Uplay will offer more; maybe even going beyond digital distribution.

“We continue to evolve the service across all platforms, including PC, console and mobile. The more Ubisoft games you play, the more rewards you can get, as well as several online services that players would expect.”

MCV will be posting their full interview later on this week, so you can expect more info about this from Perotti.
