Sega released a story focused trailer for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered in all of its PS4 powered detail on Friday.
In a World War 2-esque conflict within a fictional European setting, the nation of Gallia is a neutral space that is invaded by the Imperial Army. What does The Empire want though? A precious resource called Ragnite and Gallia is sitting on deposits of it. In the game, you follow the story of Lieutenant Welkin Gunther, Alicia, Largo and other members of Squad 7 as they fight for their country and resist the Imperials with incredible odds.
With this remastered version, the game has new trophies, 1080p with 60 FPS, and all the previous DLC that was released. The DLC includes: Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selvaria’s Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.
The game plays as a hybrid between a turn based strategy game, an RPG, and a third person shooter. You command, move the character to the desired position, and fire like a third person shooter.
Europe will be getting a special edition of the game. Entitled the Europa Edition, the set will include a 32-page art book called “The Art of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered,” which gives readers a look into character and environment art in-game, and a double-sided A3 poster (one has Squad 7 and the other has Selvaria Bles). North Americans, during the first wave of the game’s shipment, will have a steelbook (via Polygon).
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered comes to PS4 for North America and Europe on May 17th, 2016.
