Valve’s newest digital gaming platform has been under fire for some strange, strange things recently.

Valve have been forced to go on a deleting spree of some dubious content uploaded their new Steam Greenlight service. People have been uploading a variety of Half-Life 3 spoofs in an attempt to be funny at the expense of Valve. And beyond that, some various lairy content has managed to make it’s way onto the platform as well. A title known as “Best WTC Flight Simulator” comes to mind in this situation.

Valve have taken a firm stance on this and are going about removing the offensive content. Users are being banned for their actions, of course. But there’s only so much that Valve can do.

It’s unfortunate that you have to expose this service to anonymous users, since we all know that Normal Person + Anonymity = Abusive fool. Hopefully these users can get over this immaturity and Steam Greenlight can grow to be a better platform.
