Doom is coming out May 13, 2016 and the final artwork for the physical release was revealed a little while ago. It did not go over well. It is just fairly generic for a game that has a lot of flavour and personality to it. It isn’t uniquely Doom. Well, Bethesda is going to release it with alternate artwork on the reverse side of the sleeve, and you can help decide which one should get the honor. The team at id Software has been working on the two reverse sleeves, which you can see below, along with the poll to vote on from Twitter.
Help us choose the reverse sleeve for #DOOM. Poll is open for 4 days #VoteLikeHell

The poll will be open until March 7th. Personally, I love the artwork for Option B as it reminds me of the original game’s box art. Option A gives me massive vibes of the third game in the series. It also just seems too dark for what the tone of the game appears to be. Reverse sleeves are a great substitute for bad box art though, as was the case with Bioshock Infinite when it was released with the typical generic shooter cover. Bioshock Infinite had also allowed for the cover to be reversed, and was voted on by the community as well. The Evil Within is another recent example, though its original box art wasn’t that bad, in my opinion.
How do you feel about Doom‘s cover art? Are you excited to be able to change it when the game comes out, and if so, which option do you hope wins? Let us know in the comments below!
