Warhammer 40,000: Chess – Regicide Announced

<p>There have been plenty of games set in the Warhammer 40K universe but never one quite like this&period; Australian developers Hammerfall have just announced that they are working on Warhammer 40&comma;000&colon; Chess &&num;8211&semi; Regicide&period; Initially&comma; this seems to be a very weird combination but the more I think about it the more it makes sense&period; After all&comma; although they play very differently both Warhammer 40K and chess are turn based strategy board games which simulate combat&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In their press release&comma; Hammerfall is very keen to stress that Chess &&num;8211&semi; Regicide will go &&num;8216&semi;beyond the traditional boundaries of chess&&num;8217&semi;&period; On top of the standard single player and multiplayer classic modes&comma; the game will also feature a campaign mode which &&num;8216&semi;takes chess to a new level&&num;8217&semi;&period; Not much is known so far about this campaign except that it will follow the Blood Ravens Chapter and will have upgradeable characters&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Warhammer 40&comma;000&colon; Chess &&num;8211&semi; Regicide will launch this year for &&num;8216&semi;multiple gaming platforms&&num;8217&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;pcgamer&period;com&sol;2014&sol;05&sol;13&sol;warhammer-40000-chess-regicide-announced-because-nothing-is-more-warhammer-than-chess&sol;">PC Gamer<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
