Watch Dogs 2 Officially Revealed

Hacker culture is going to run rampant this year, as Watch Dogs 2 makes its way onto consoles and PC on November 15th, 2016. The game features a new protagonist and city and will fully explore hacking culture in both its story and its gameplay.

The new game features Marcus Holloway, a man who turned against the system when he was wrongfully accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Marcus will be far more of a parkour-heavy character than Watch Dogs‘s original protagonist, Aiden Pearce. This means that the character will move much more freely and be able to really move around the world. He will be rooted in the city of San Francisco, where the next entry in the series takes place. Watch Dogs 2 will also see the return of Dedsec, the hacktivist group from the original game. It makes sense that they will return as ctOS will also be making its way to San Francisco after being officially launched in Chicago in the first game.

One of the major new additions though will be the game’s hacking mechanics, which will be far more robust. Most notably is the inclusion of being able to hack cars and have them be driven remotely. However, players will also be able to hack people to distract them and later in the game, there will be an ability to hack multiple people at once. Hacking isn’t the only place where the game will become more detailed though, as a 3D printer in the game will allow for Marcus to craft several new tools for his form of cyber destruction. Yes, there will also be drones in the game.

The other feature will be an expansion on the seamless online play which the original game highlighted as a key feature. It seems like it will be a much more seamless and connected experience than it was previously. There will be a demo of the game at E3 2016, so hopefully we will find out more information about all the features then.
