Number 5

Get Assassin’s Creed II For FREE On Xbox Live

Microsoft have confirmed that the next title available to download for free, as a part of their Xbox Live Gold promotion, is now available to download and will come in the flavor of Assassin’s Creed II.

This title followed Fable III (although arguably wasn’t part of the promotion) and is expected to come before Halo 3 as an incentive to join Xbox Live Gold and compete with Sony’s PlayStation Plus offering.

Number 4

Xbox One Downloadable Titles Can Be Played During Download

The Xbox One will allows users to play their downloaded games while it is still being downloaded, Polygon was told by a Microsoft representative.

You may recall that this feature can be found in the PlayStation 4, where the game can be played after the download reaches a certain point.

Before now, we only knew that the Xbox One could play disc-based games while they were installing to the hard drive, but it seems that all games on the system will be cutting down how long it takes to play.

Number 3

PS3 Wireless Headsets Will Work With PS4

Do you have a wireless PlayStation 3 headset that you just can’t bare to part with? No worries then, because your shiny new PlayStation 4 will support it, as confirmed by Polygon, who was told by a Sony rep at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Keep in mind, even if you don’t have a headset from the PS3 era, the PS4 will ship with its own earbud headset. As opposed to the Xbox One, which isn’t shipping with a headset (thank you, Kinect) and will not support Xbox 360 accessories.

Number 2

PS4′s Diablo III Not Launching Until 2014

The long awaited console version of Diablo III will take a little bit longer to reach your disc tray as Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the game will not be available until sometime in 2014.

Speaking to Diablo Fans, the developer team stated that it has only just received PS4 development kits, and they also want to make the most out of Sony’s new console and the new features that come along with it.

In addition to this, Blizzard warned that there was no guarantee that future expansions would ship on all platforms at the same time, due to expansions needing to be made exclusively for each device.

Number 1

European Developers Favor PS4 Over Xbox One

At this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), a survey was conducted to discover which of the next generation consoles European developers were more likely to develop for in the near future.

The survey gathered information on over three-hundred developers and asked for their views of the next generation consoles in addition to what countries they believe will move the industry forward in the future. One thing to note, however, was that this survey was conducted before Microsoft announced its DRM change.
