Xbox One Will Record and Store Last Five Minutes of Gameplay

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One can record and store up to five minutes of gameplay on its hard drive, thanks to its new video capturing feature. The need to press or say ‘record’ is unnecessary, as the Xbox One will contain an always updating recording.

Microsoft Studios creative director Ken Lobb confirmed the news to GameSpot while at San Diego Comic-Con, and went on to further detail the system, stating that users can also say ‘Xbox Record’ and the system will proceed to record the last 30 seconds of footage.

The PlayStation 4, which has a similar feature, has been said to record up to 15 minutes of footage, but there doesn’t appear to be any concrete details supporting that claim.

Microsoft May Allow Self-Publishing on Xbox One

Microsoft may be reversing another one of the Xbox One’s stances, as it has been reported by GameInformer that the company will announce plans to allow self-publishing on the Xbox One. Something that Sony has confirmed to be supported by the PlayStation 4.

According to their report, Microsoft will be doing something similar to the iTunes App Store, as they aim to have a 14-day turnaround when it comes to approval by only checking for ‘terms of service violations and significant bugs’ and devs will be able to set their own prices and release dates.

Xbox corporate vice president Marc Whitten has provided a statement regarding self-publishing on Xbox One:

“Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development. That every game and experience can take advantage of all of the features of Xbox One and Xbox Live. This means self-publishing. This means Kinect, the cloud, achievements. This means great discoverability on Xbox Live. We’ll have more details on the program and the timeline at Gamescom in August.”

Saints Row IV Season Pass Announced

Deep Silver has announced that Saints Row IV will be joining the Season Pass club, now that the game has ‘gone gold.’

The Season Pass is available now for pre-purchase for $9.99 and includes two new mission packs, the Rectifier weapon and the Enter the Dominatrix DLC that was recently revealed to be the game’s first add-on.

Microsoft: Xbox One Preorders ‘Through The Roof’ At GameStop

Microsoft are seemingly very happy with themselves, after Xbox Chief of Staff Aaron Greenberg was quoted saying that demand for the Xbox One at GameStop was “through the roof”, which has led to the company preventing any more from being reserved by eager next generation gamers.

On his Twitter account, Aaron Greenberg tweeted:
“Demand was through the roof, so preorders stopped for now. Get on the GameStop first to know list for preorder updates.”

Number 1

PS4 Returns To Amazon In Bundle-Form

Although non-bundle PS4 launch editions are still out of stock at many retailers, including Amazon, the company has just announced through Twitter that you can still get your hands on a launch day edition console via their many bundles.

The top two bundles – those that include a PlayStation Plus subscription – will cost $500, whilst the bundles including just one game will cost $460.
