Grand Theft Auto V Officially Confirmed for Spring 2013 Release

Leaks from promo artwork and websites are great and all, but hearing it from the horse’s mouth is when things finally start to feel real. Case in point, Rockstar has finally confirmed that GTAV will be out sometime during spring of next year; with Rockstar North being at the helm when it comes to development. The game is set to take place in “a re-imagined, present-day Southern California” that is a part of the largest game-world the team has ever created.

3DS sells more than three times as many than other consoles

In Japan, the Nintendo 3DS is bringing a new definition to the three in its name. The newest handheld console released by Nintendo is destroying competition by selling over 61,000 units in this week’s Japanese sales charts alone. Whilst we’ve seen numbers higher than this in the past for other consoles, it is astonishing to learn that the countries second best selling console was the PlayStation 3… selling 20,364 units. Impressive numbers by anyone’s measurements, especially when being compared to when the system just launched!

Are Developers starting to receive PlayStation 4 Development Kits?

Whilst reports earlier this year stated that Sony plans to support the PlayStation 3 until at least 2015, sources close to VG24/7 have reported that Sony is beginning to share details of the PlayStation 4 with partners which are key to the company. According to these reports, the PlayStation 4 has been code-named “Orbis” and it is currently in second refresh with the third due to be shipped to developers in January. This ‘January model’ of the Orbis is supposedly close to the final specs before being provided next Summer, which could indicate a E3 reveal of the new console to the public.
