Nintendo Confirm Reason Why EU Wii U Blocks 18+ eShop Content

As we reported yesterday, Nintendo has implemented restrictions to the Wii U eShop in Europe meaning that gamers can only access 18+ Rated content between the hours of 23:00 – 3:00. However, since we reported the story Nintendo have released a statement to Eurogamer explaining the reason of them doing so:

“At Nintendo we always aim to provide a safe gaming experience for fans of all ages and ensure that we comply with applicable legal age restriction requirements across Europe. Legal age restriction requirements vary across a number of European countries. Since Nintendo of Europe is based in Germany, Nintendo eShop is complying with German youth protection regulation which therefore applies to all our European markets. Under German law, content rated 18+ must be made available only at night. Therefore the accessibility of 18+ content in Nintendo eShop is limited to.”

LittleBigPlanet 2 to Utilize PS Vita in New Cross Controller DLC

LittleBigPlanet 2 will be getting some new content later this month in the form of the Cross-Controller Pack. This pack, which makes the PS Vita the controller and second screen, will see Sackboy going on a new adventure with a group of Space Pirates in an attempt to find some valuable treasure; as pirates tend to do. The Vita’s front and rear touch screens will be required to make your way through some of the obstacles in this new content and will also make LBP2 the first game to implement Cross-Controller support.

Diablo III A Step Closer To Release On Consoles

Although a console port of dungeon-crawler Diablo III has still yet to be officially announced by Blizzard, the developer has once again mentioned that is it an option they are exploring, and has now gone so far as to confirm that it has “builds up and running on it.” Blizzard Chief Creative Officer Rob Pardo told Polygon that, “We’re still kind of exploring it. We’ve got builds up and running on it. We’re hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we’re not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it’s looking pretty cool.”

Over 11,000 People Want Dark Souls II on Wii U

We previously reported about the Dark Souls II petition which gamers were signing regarding trying to convince Namco Bandai to bring the game onto the Wii U.In less than a week the petition has gathered (at the time of writing) 11,740 digitalised signatures, all from people who want the developer to support Nintendo’s new console. Dark Souls II was announced on December 7th this year for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC but NOT Wii U. Will you think that Bandai Namco will change their mind?

Humble THQ Bundles Makes More Than $5 Million in Just 14 Days

It was certain that the Humble THQ Bundle was going to make A LOT of money in its time on sale, but we don’t think that people expected anything like this! The Humble THQ Bundle raised an amazing total of $5,097,476.23 since it originally started on the 29th November 2012 from the help of 885,289 backers. Games which were featured in the bundle consisted of Metro 2033, Darksiders, Red Faction: Armageddon and Company of Heroes whilst those who paid over the average being spent also received Saint’s Row: The Third, Titan Quest, Ref Faction: Armageddon’s Path of War DLC and also Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
