We’re Officially Getting a Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil remakes are all the rage these days for Capcom – so much so that word of an old Resident Evil port is more likely than a new one, it seems. That’s not liable to be changing anytime soon as far as the studio’s concerned, because we’re officially getting an HD remaster of Resident Evil 2.

In celebration of the remake’s development, today, Producer Yoshiaki “H” Hirabyashi created a video enthusiastically thanking fans.

“It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved,” Hirabyashi said. “The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”

Developed by Capcom’s R&D Division 1, “H” says that he and his team will keep fans posted on updates, but it’s going to be “some time” before’s any more news to be said.

Meanwhile, we’ll be graced by Resident Evil 0 HD remake next year for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
