After you read that title, please note… “in Japan,” it’s home country. The Playstation 4 still rocks the non-handheld market this generation, having released a year after Wii U, while selling approximately 3-4 million more consoles. But I am personally a Nintendo fan, and I’ve never been more excited for a console than I was with Wii U. I have never regretted adopting it on day 1 when it launched back in November 2012.
While I’m not one to focus on who’s beating who, it certainly did make its way around the internet news cycle that Wii U has sold more units in Japan than PS4. The Wii U has sold 1.9 million units in Japan at the time of writing this article, compared to 680,000 Playstation 4 consoles, according to Vgchartz. With the launch of Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 recently, and the hype coming from the 3DS launch of Super Smash Bros, Japan has gotten some solid Nintendo exclusive titles before other regions.
My hope is that everyone can enjoy their systems of choice, and be open to a new system if your wallet allows it
Thanks for reading, everyone.
