Carbine Studios MMO WildStar has now gone free-to-play. The latest update called WildStar: Reloaded is live now, September 29th, so players can go right in and enjoy the whole game for free. WildStar uses the standard free-to-play model where you can purchase optional quality of life improvements, cosmetic upgrades, and services of different kinds.
In tandem with this update, a cinematic launch trailer was also released that portrays the games unique style.

And so another MMO has been converted from pay-to-play to the opposite end. This is the path most MMO’s takes in the end, there is however some that still manages to thrive on a subscription model but they are few. For WildStar free-to-play was probably a logical step for it to reach new success.
