We Will Miss You Leonard Nimoy

Sadly a most beloved actor has passed away this week. Leonard Nimoy, was best known for playing Mr. Spock in the original Star Trek series. He inspired scientists to pursue exploring the wonders of space and taught us it was ok to be a social outcast. As Spock, Mr. Nimoy became the emotionless and loyal half-Vulcan. His acting on screen melted into a realism that showed viewers his phenomenal talent. Star Trek is Star Trek because of Spock and Leonard Nimoy’s performance.

But what many people are unaware of is Mr. Nimoy’s artistic endeavors and his support of the arts. Leonard Nimoy always had a fascination with photography and cameras. This lead him to pursuing taking artistic and haunting photographs.

Another one of his pursuits was poetry. Speaking at colleges and publishing his poetry, he showed us never to confine ourselves as a one-tone person. Mr. Nimoy’s poetry is thought provoking and will forever voice his soul. The last tweet he posted a few days ago, comes from one of most inspirational poems. He says “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP”.  Mr. Nimoy eerily told the world that even though he has to leave this earth, he can continue to live in everyone’s memories as long we allow those memories to remain intact.

Leonard Nimoy you will never be forgotten and you will continue to inspire us to “boldly go where no man has gone before”. We shall miss you.
