Remember the Wonderbook from E3? It’s like when the Eyepet was operated by an AR card except this time they promise that it’ll actually work. Also, it’s a book. Well, the first of the hopefully lengthy and prosperous Wonderbook franchise is getting ready for release and now has a date to prove it. Wonderbook: Book Of Spells is coming out in the UK on November 16th and North America on November 13th.

But with that date comes a mountain of pressure. You see, PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara was quoted last month in saying that not only is Wonderbook “certainly the most inspirational product we’ve seen for the Move in the two years since it’s been out” but that it’s also “top of the pile and certainly the biggest number we’ll be going after.” That means that they’re expecting the JK Rowling based-upon-Wonderbook to be the biggest selling first party title for the PS3 this Christmas.

That’s a pretty big claim (unless you look at just what first party titles Sony have released this year, anyway) and Sony are doing everything in their power to make that come true. They’re making the game available as both a standalone book-disc and a Move bundle. And if you haven’t got a PS3, no matter! Consoles of all storage sizes will be getting bundles that come with the Wonderbook to ensure that no-one need miss out on a Wonderbook; this Christmas’ must have gift!

Wonderbook: Book Of Spells (and, by the by, I have now said Wonderbook so many times that it has lost all meaning) will be on North American PS3s on November 13th and UK PS3s on November 16th. …why yes, that is the same week as Black Ops II launches. Isn’t that a co-incidence?
