Team 17 have unveiled a release date and a new trailer for the upcoming Worms Battlegrounds. The game, which is coming to both PS4 and Xbox One, will launch in the UK first on May 30 with a North America release following on June 3. The classic multiplayer deathmatch mode will be playable both locally and online. Players will be able to join up in clans and then battle against other teams in league matches. The game also has a decent chunk of single player content with 25 missions and 10 Worm-Ops time attack levels.
Team 17 is making the most of next gen power with the game running in 1080p at a constant 60fps. This new title has 5 environments to play in; Feudal Japan, Aztec, Industrial Revolution, Prehistoric and Viking. The trailer shows off some of the 65 different weapons and utilities that will feature in Worms Battlegrounds. As well as old favourites such as the Ninja Rope, Super Sheep and Concrete Donkey, the game also has 10 brand new weapons such as the Winged Monkey, Gravedigger, and Bovine Blitz.
Worms Battlegrounds will be available digitally in North America and Europe, with the latter also seeing a physical release. According to the Playstation Blog, the game will cost $24.99 on PSN.
