Microsoft recently revealed the next couple of free games that’ll be available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers this August. These games include two backward compatible games and two Xbox one games as usual.
The Xbox One titles this August include Portal Knights, a multiplayer survival action role-playing game that was released back in 2016 and Override: Mech City Brawl, a local and online co-operative mech fighting game. Whereas the backward compatible games available to Gold members include MX Unleashed, an off-road motor cross racing game that released in 2004 from Rainbow Studios and THQ Nordic, and Red Faction II, the sequel mars shooter game from Volition.

Portal Knights (August 1-August 31)

Override: Mech City Brawl (August 16-September 15)
No gears, no glory! Control gigantic robots and duke it out in this 3D mech brawler! Epic battles await in local and online Versus mode, 4-player Co-op – where each player controls one part of a mech – and a single-player campaign. Each mech has its own play style, special moves, and finishers.
MX Unleashed (August 1-August 15)
Rainbow Studios returns to its heritage to bring the definitive next-generation off-road game to life. Featuring enormous free world environments and an extensive racing career mode, MX Unleashed is one big off-road playground. If you want more intense action, battle it out with a monster truck, helicopter, or bi-plane!
Red Faction II (August 16-August 31)
Twenty-second century Earth. Five years after the rebellion on Mars. For the last 15 years, Sopot, the corrupt dictator, has oppressed the people of the Commonwealth. His relentless pursuit of unification with the neighboring United Republic has left the country soaked in unnecessary bloodshed and poverty.
