Upon going to the Xbox Marketplace in your browser, you may notice that something –particularly the name– seems different. No, you wouldn’t be seeing thing, because the Xbox Marketplace is no longer called that, it’s now the Xbox Games Store.
When Microsoft was questioned about the name change by Joystiq, a spokesperson said, “That’s right, [Xbox Live Marketplace] is now called the Xbox Games Store, and will sit alongside the Xbox Music Store and Xbox Video Store. This is to make it easier for consumers to find content both on Xbox 360 today and Xbox One when it launches in November.”
It never occurred to me what I referred to Xbox Live’s online store as, but yeah, ‘Xbox Games Store’ seems to make the most sense. It’s the online store you buy digital Xbox games from. So simple.
