If you plan on playing your copy of Halo 5 you received for Christmas in expert style, you’ll have to wait at least a few months. Make it your New Year’s resolution to rack up kills without the benefit of an Xbox One Elite controller, as they won’t be in stock until March 2016.

A Microsoft representative had this to say about the shortage:

“While the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is sold out in many retailers around the world, we are working quickly to get more units in the hands of fans. We expect more units to arrive at retailers each week but supply may be limited through March 2016.”

The Elite controller was released along with Halo 5: Guardians on October 27th, for the hefty price of $150. Since then, many gamers have shown great interest in the controller with the magnetic analog sticks and swappable components. The demand has made it difficult for Microsoft to keep the controller in stock during the holiday season.

Keep an eye out for restocking of the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller at Gamestop and Amazon, as they will definitely sell through quickly.
