Following yesterday’s report on the more powerful Xbox One codenamed “Scorpio”, more details have emerged from Polygon. The same sources that have been reported on by Kotaku told Polygon that the late 2017 console will be over four times as powerful as the current Xbox One.
Apparently the slimmer version of the original console, reportedly coming later this year, will include a new controller and will be revealed during E3. Unlike previous reports that stated that only the Scorpio would have 4K support, The Verge and their sources now explain that this model of the console will also tout 4K visuals.
The revised console is said to be 40 percent smaller than the original, and the leanest Xbox console ever made by Microsoft. Even more, the console is expected to release this August, making it the first significant console update this generation.
The war for hardware power rages on – the all-but-confirmed PlayStation “Neo” is believed to be capable of performing at a peak performance of 4.14 teraflops, edged out by the 6 teraflops Microsoft’s Scorpio is capable of.
Stay tuned for more updates from BagoGames as information continues to trickle out about the new consoles.
