Xbox Slated to Receive “New Version” Within 18 Months

<p>According to a recent <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;careers&period;microsoft&period;com&sol;jobdetails&period;aspx&quest;jid&equals;86318" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">job advertisement<&sol;a> at Microsoft&comma; there is a new version of the Xbox slated to be released within the next 18 months&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Part of the job request reads&comma; &&num;8220&semi;Over the next eighteen months&comma; Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows &lpar;Client&comma; Server&comma; Phone and Azure&rpar;&comma; Office&comma; and Xbox&comma; along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface&comma;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This is contradictory in comparison to the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;update-generation-xbox-confirmed-general-manager-microsoft&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">recent statements<&sol;a> regarding an apparent mix-up during an interview where Microsoft general manager Brian Hall slipped up in saying &&num;8220&semi;new Xbox&&num;8221&semi;&period; Microsoft has since shut down the issue stating that all was referring to the Xbox Live update scheduled for this fall&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Even if the supposed slip up was in fact a reference to an online update to current systems&comma; it is entirely possible the company could be testing out new formats on the current system in order to prepare for a successful launch in the next generation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lpar;Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;gamespot&period;com&sol;news&sol;new-version-of-xbox-due-in-next-18-months-6391015" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">GameSpot<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
