Action strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released on the Mac this spring in the form of an Elite Edition containing extra content.
A reimagining of 1994’s X-COM: UFO Defense (a.k.a. UFO: Enemy Unknown), developer Firaxis Games’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown was released on consoles and PC in 2012 to widespread critical acclaim, receiving praise for its blend of story, action and strategy.
The release of XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the Mac will be in the form of an Elite Edition containing all previously released updates and DLC. According to a press release, the Elite Edition will include “Slingshot and Elite Soldier Pack add-on content, as well as the Second Wave update, which includes a series of gameplay modifiers that add further depth and flexibility to the campaign.”
XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be published on the Mac by London-based Feral Interactive. Further details regarding the release will apparently be revealed “closer to the release date.”
