Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Delayed To April, Demo Releases Soon

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has been delayed to an April 17th release rather than its initial March 20th date, says the Yakuza Twitter page (via Gematsu). It will still release on the same day in both North America and Europe.

A demo will be released on the PlayStation Store on February 27th and the cool thing is that your save data from your progress in the demo will carry over to the full game. Sega apparently has more surprises coming up for Yakuza fans as they said, “We have many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series.”

The Dragon of Dojima returns to the streets 3 years after the events of Yakuza 5. He dreams of having a peaceful life, but Haruka slips into a coma after being involved in an accident, leaving her son Haruto without someone to look after him. Kiryu goes to Onomichi and finds a new Yakuza to fight against. He’ll have to fight them to keep his family safe. According to Sega (via PlayStation), “Yakuza 6 features an emotional story that examines the strength of family relationships, and highlights an improved battle system that seamlessly transitions between battles and between explorable areas.”

Yakuza 6 has 2 special editions as well. The first is the Essence of Art Edition, which comes with an artbook that is also a case for the game. It includes more than twenty pieces of art from fans in the book. The second comes with the art book, as well as 2 bar glasses, 2 ice stones, 2 coasters, and a collectible outer box. With this special edition, you too can drink like The Dragon of Dojima. Just try not to get too drunk to think you can fight like The Dragon of Dojima, okay?

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life releases only for the PS4 on April 17th.
