It was almost three years ago this year that ZombiU released for Nintendo’s then brand-new console, the Wii U. In the time since, the game gained a cult-following despite its poor sales and mixed reception. That fandom’s apparently jettisoned it for a current-generation release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One this coming month.

The survival-horror game was especially renown for its challenge as much as its unique take on death. Once players died and died often, they’d assume the mantle of a new character entirely, encouraging the achievement of a deathless run.

Simple titled Zombi, the game will release digitally this August 18th for Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4.

It’s unknown how the game will now account for its original dual-screen functionality on the Wii U gamepad. It does, however, appear to remain just as scary as you can see in the announcement trailer above.
