Welcome back to another episode of Bagocast! In this episode, we will be reviewing The Blind Prophet by Ars Goetia. A point-and-click adventure game that has a graphical novel art style. The absolutely gorgeous art style lured us into playing the game. Our first encounter with The Blind Prophet was great for the first two hours of the game. Leaving us filled with glee, but does the rest of the game keep up the momentum or falls apart in the latter parts?

The Blind Prophet is set in a fictional city that invested with demons. You take control of Bartholomeus, an apostle sent from the heavens to cure the city of the demon plague. Traversing through the city, he discovers that the demon’s evil roots have reached further than simply attacking civilians.

Pros

Great art style

Interesting and likable characters

Music is great

The story is (mostly) interesting

Fun puzzles

Cons

A couple of plot threads are never addressed

The ending feels empty and bitter

Grammar and misspellings

It’s a shame that The Blind Prophet is held back by a couple of missteps. If the developers do fix these problems with a patch, then we can see ourselves giving this game a 9 or 10 out of 10. Sadly, in its current state, we can’t give it those gold tier praises. Don’t misunderstand us, The Blind Prophet is still an excellent game. Filled with likable character, funny dialogue, fun puzzles, gorgeous art style, and overall interesting story. We do hope to see more from The Blind Prophet and look forward to more Ars Goetia’s future titles.

Rating: 7/10
