BPM: Bullets Per Minute is a rogue-lite rhythm FPS that came to PC last year. In our review, we stated the game was fun and had some great music, but we felt it was held back by its rogue-lite design. Even so, the game sold well enough to warrant a console port, and thanks to Playtonic Friends that is becoming a reality.

“We always had plans to support consoles, but we felt like we should treat it as a brand new release, however. As a result we looked for a partner to help us do these new platforms justice.” – David Jones, Awe Interactive founder

Awe Interactive is one of the first companies to sign with Playtonic Friends as a publisher. Playtonic Friends formed not too long ago as the publisher for Playtonic Games mainly but also welcomed other indie developers to their family.

The console versions of BPM will come with some added goodies as well. Five brand new characters will be available to console players, as well as three new weapons, a brand new chapter, two new difficulty settings, and other brand new items, achievements, and assorted tweaks. With this smorgasbord of additions, it seems like the console versions of BPM: Bullets Per Minute seem to be the definitive edition to grab.

Here’s what you can expect from the game:

Shoot and jump to the beat while battling hordes of enemies

Challenging boss battles

Randomly generated dungeons

10 different characters with unique strengths and weaknesses

A powerful arsenal of weapons that all have unique mechanics

A diverse array of enemies that all have unique behavior

Abilities that radically alter the gameplay

Over 60 buff items

An epic rock opera soundtrack by Sam Houghton and Joe Collinson

BPM: Bullets Per Minute is coming to consoles later this year (we will keep you updated when it does release). In the meantime, you can check the game out on PC via Steam.
