Polytron have announced that the long developed indie game Fez, will be ported to other consoles at some point this year due to “dozens of people emailing me (Polytron) everyday telling me how much of an idiot I am for not porting FEZ to everything”.
Fez was released in 2012 for Xbox Live Arcade and its developed was anything but smooth. Due to there being such a small team at Polytron, it took (quite literally) years for the game to be developed and released whilst the company director, Phil Fish, fought legal battles throughout the games development.
The development of Fez and Phil Fish’s story was also covered in ‘Indie Game: The Movie’ (currently part of the Humble Indie Bundle 7 if you already haven’t taken part!) in which the film documents Phil Fish’s battle to get the game released the amount of pressure he was under to try and please as many people as possible.
The game, Fez, features a 2D character who one day realizes that he lives in a 3D world due to a magical Fez. Upon realizing his new power he sets off around this world which the player can literally shift dimensions to reveal never-before seen locations. It truly is an amazing title!
Will you be likely to purchase a port of Fez?
