Big Cake Games have announced Cold Horizon, a hand drawn arctic platformer for PS4 and PC today.
Built on the Unity engine, Cold Horizon is about a polar bear who protects a magical child from ensuing hunters who have a plan for him. Throughout the journey, the player plays as both the polar bear and the child to solve puzzles and take down opposing animals in the arctic wilderness. According to a press release, the boy is able to “highlight unseen things around you [and heal] the bear’s injuries.” The polar bear can run, jump, crawl, climb, and swim. As the story progresses, the boy’s powers are further explained.
Cold Horizon‘s hand drawn look is inspired by folk art and the soundtrack will be comprised of ethnic instruments.
Cold Horizon is scheduled to release on PC and PS4 this year.
