London-based developer Curve has announced that Jasper Byrne’s indie horror title Lone Survivor will be released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita via the PSN in July.

Originally released on PC and Mac in early 2012, Lone Survivor is a 2D horror game which received widespread acclaim for its depth of story, effective horror elements, and soundtrack. The game sees the player take control of a nameless protagonist attempting to survive in a city full of monsters and who has begun to question his sanity. Players are given a large amount of freedom in how they approach the game, whether they opt for stealth or a more action-focused approach, and a variety of options are offered in terms of how the players maintains their character’s physical and mental health.

The PS3 and Vita version of the game is a collaboration between Curve and original creator Byrne, and will be an enhanced version featuring Trophies and both Cross-Buy and Cross-Play support. The enhanced version will also contain brand-new content which Byrne revealed in a post on the EU PlayStation Blog: “19 new items, new dialogue with all NPCs, two extensive new side quests and a brand new ‘Yellow’ ending, featuring an exclusive piece of music.”

Byrne also stated that the potential inclusion of touch control for the Vita version of the game was being looked into.

“It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to release one of my games on a console,” said Byrne, “especially of the Sony variety (as the PlayStation family is still my favourite!) and I have the utmost confidence in Curve, who are handling the conversion, to produce the ultimate version of the game.”
