From developers Vladimir Fedyushkin and Nicolai Danielsen, comes a brand new 2D aerial combat title, Jet Lancer. Along with the gameplay reveal trailer (more on that below), the team also revealed the Jet Lancer release date and platforms. The game plans to release on Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) on May 12th.
As for the trailer, it showcases some of the game’s very fast gameplay. The player controls one small ship weaving around a big battlefield of projectiles flying everywhere. Conceptually, it sounds similar to a game like Super Stardust HD on PlayStation 3.

Trailer Contents and Impressions
Right after the Switch logo, the game shows a very brief still of a fighter pilot, and the trailer immediately blasts off into gameplay. From there, the trailer shows gameplay of a small plane moving and dodging lots of targets quickly homing in. The plane shoots in what direction it’s facing, akin to Konami’s Time Pilot (gameplay credit: Old Classic Retro Gaming).
The game also looks to have sub-weapons available as well, such as a scattering missile for taking down multiple targets. These sub-weapons are selected before levels. In turn, this introduces a factor of risk versus reward to players.
Jet Lancer also has a full story mode as well and takes you through various colorful environments in order to dominate the skies. In addition to the story mode, the game has various accessibility features for players of all levels. Jet Lancer’s accessibility features include damage modifiers, anti-fatigue control toggles, and visual adjustments such as removing screen shakes and flashes.
