The Last Door Season 2 Episode 1 Available Now

Exciting news from Phoenix Online Publishing and The Game Kitchen, as they have announced Season 2 of the popular old-school point-and-click horror game, The Last Door, coming to PC, Mac, and Linux in early 2016!

The Collector’s Edition for Season 2 is available now on Steam, with the first episode, “Playwright”, available via Early Access.

The Last Door has been described as a “love letter to Lovecraft,” as it’s set in Victorian England and heavily features elements of the occult and supernatural horror, creating an unsettling blend of both Lovecraft and Poe.

In Season 1 of The Last Door you play Jeremiah Devitt, who receives a letter with a hidden message from his old schoolmate Anthony Beechworth. Troubled by this message, Devitt sets off to his friend’s abandoned manor, and discovers things man would probably be better off not knowing.

The Last Door soon becomes a labyrinth of mystery, intrigue, and horror the more Devitt finds out and the further he follows his old friend. Season 2 will pick up right where Season 1 left off, with Devitt’s psychiatrist, Dr. John Wakefield, searching for his now-vanished former patient.

“We truly cannot wait to release the new Season 2, we’re very excited to introduce a lot of surprising revelations to the players who have waited patiently since Season 1,” says Enrique Cabeza, Creative Director for The Game Kitchen. “We have created a much bigger map to explore, with more characters, more puzzles, and more mysteries to solve than the previous season, which means more gameplay time. The wide screen graphics are better than ever with new effects, like raining and snowing. And you can’t miss the new Carlos Viola soundtrack, it will chill your bones!”

Season 1 of The Last Door is available on PC, Max, Linux, as well as iOS and Android. The entire first season can be bought on Steam in the Collector’s Edition, which also features bonus content with new puzzles, scenes, and unlockable bonuses.

Early Access for Season 2 is available here and Season 1 can be purchased here, as well as from Phoenix Online Publishing’s website.
