The other day I contacted the Australian developer Organic Humans in regards to what’s happening with their Early Access game Montas. They revealed some pretty nice details, along with stating that the game is still being developed.

Hi, just wondering how Montas is going. Care to give me a bit of an update?

“Hi Rampage. We have been improving gameplay and design in the new engine Unreal Engine 4. With new VR devices in mind, we now have advanced body awareness and other features worthy of a AAA title. We will be demonstrating these improvements in a Montas prequel running in Unreal Engine 4 in the coming months.”

Okay, cool. So does that mean Montas has been updated to run on UE4, or just the Prequel?

“The prequel will replace the current Early Access version in UE3, and the final version will include the prequel and the Early Access content as well as the rest of the game.”

Will the content be bundled in with the main game, ie starting with the prequel, early access gameplay then main game, or will they have their own option to easily determine the difference?

“The prequel is designed to be included in the beginning of the final game, whereas the original Early Access UE3 content was more of a vertical slice, so you will recognize scenes and elements of it in the final game, but it will not be presented in the same way, rather it will be scattered throughout the final game.”

Okay, so integrated into the main game.

“Indeed”

Hopefully Organic Humans add a forum thread or news post to reassure all the people that bought Montas. Their above comments fill the void that I’ve had in regards to this game and its actual release date after the developer has stayed almost completely silent. I’m also always up for more content. Knowing that it’ll be free, and not some paid expansion always makes me feel better.
