Indie Title Pulse Arrives On Steam

Another unusual and intriguing looking title has been released on Steam this week: Pulse from Pixel Pi Games tells the story of a young blind girl named Eva, who is on her ancestral rite of passage through a collapsing world.

Not unlike Daredevil, how Eva envisions the world around her via a form of echolocation. Through sound and touch her mind’s eye pictures what the environment around her is like, creating a creative blend of a world that is both popping with color yet strangely transparent as well.

(Pulse, Pixel Pi Games)

Eva’s mission is to explore this crumbling world to try and discover just why it’s been plagued with violent earthquakes and tremors. Along the way, she’ll employ the help of ridiculously adorable forest spirits called mokos to keep from getting lost as she searches for clues that will lead her to the truth.

Eva’s journey will not be an easy one, as there are natural enemies and dangerous environmental hazards that would be all too easy to fall prey to.

Pulse is the recreated and final version of Pixel Pi’s award-winning prototype, which was originally a project for a Games Design program. The prototype garnered high attention and praise, winning the Best Student Game Unity Award at the Unite conference in Amsterdam. Pulse continued to hold the hype, and the group launched a Kickstarter to bring us the final, completed product and officially begin their partnership.

With the game’s arrival comes a new launch trailer that shows off the world much better than words could, so take a look and see the uniquely created world and story.

You can learn more about Pulse on Pixel Pi Games’ official website and on their Steam page.
