Puppeteer is a brand new IP being developed by SCE Japan Worldwide Studios. This game is looking to be one of the most exciting platformers to come out in recent memory. The dark, fairytale platformer boasts an incredibly Tim Burton-esque art style, whilst offering gameplay mechanics not too dissimilar from that of LittleBigPlanet.
You’ll be playing as a puppet in a fairytale show (although I guess you are technically the puppeteer, of course, since we’re using the controller… very deep.) and the environments are dynamic and constantly on the move with you. You are witnessing everything as you would a classic theatre show, and you’ll even hear the applause of an entertained audience reacting to your death defying escapes!
Puzzle elements, strong emphasis on platforming, and even some pretty terrifying boss encounters make up for the overall experience, and some of these battles incorporate a huge sense of scale—all on a tiny puppet show stage!
Any fans of LittleBigPlanet, Tim Burton, or even just something a little bit different, should all have this one on their radar.
