Reach Level 50 Early in Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Through this Tephra Cave Exploit

It's a new skip that allows you to reach endgame areas.

Tephra Cave Exploit

Xenoblade Chronicles had an exploit that allowed you to get to an endgame section easily. However, it seems like it was patched out (or it’s harder to pull off) in the Definitive Edition. This exploit allowed players to get to Level 50 before reaching the Bionis’ Leg. Fortunately, it seems like another exploit was found that will also let you get to level 50 early!

What’s even more ironic is that the same exploit could be found in roughly the same areas the last one. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get it until a little bit later than before. But, before we go into any more detail, let’s talk about the benefits that this exploit offers!

Getting to Level 50 in Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Early

The exploit will allow you to reach an area you’re not meant to access until the endgame. What this means is that you’ll be able to acquire some high-end materials. Not only that, but you’ll also get to add new Locations and Secret Areas to your map. Doing so will let you level up exponentially because the EXP amount you get is astronomically high.

So, by the end of your tour, you’ll be able to level up to Level 50 without an issue. Either you level up naturally or it will become accessible through Expert Mode. So, if you want to keep your experience smooth without being overleveled through a major part of the adventure, that’s the way to go.

Something odd about this exploit is that the area you’ll be in will become completely empty. That means there will be no monsters that will hunt you down while you explore the area. The common consensus is that since you’re not meant to be in that area, enemies don’t get spawned in. So, explore to your heart’s content!

How to Perform the Exploit?

Before we explain how the new Tephra Cave exploit is done, we should go over the requirements:

After these conditions are met (which are pretty easy to fulfill), you’ll be able to perform the exploit. All you have to do is jump on and climb on the vines behind you. Afterward, you run up against the nearest wall and pause the game.

In the Pause Menu, you’ll have to Switch your first party member with the second one. After the switch is done, quit the menu while holding the analog stick to the left. Keep in mind, however, that if the second character wasn’t climbing the vines while you performed the switch, nothing will happen.

After you perform these steps you’ll find yourself clipping through the wall and falling to a nearby platform. If you landed on it, congratulations! You have successfully performed the exploit and reached an endgame area quite easily. However, if you fall to the floor below, you’ll have to start over. So, make sure to keep holding left as you fall!

A New Tephra Cave Exploit/Skip

This new Tephra Cave exploit is pretty easy to perform compared to the one in the original Xenoblade Chronicles. It will net you some Level V Crystals that will allow you to create really powerful Gems that will aid you on your journey.

Considering the current patch-heavy environment we live in, it’s pretty likely that this exploit will be fixed at some point during the game’s life cycle. Of course, the possibility of it not being patched still exists and players will be allowed to have fun breaking the game. I mean, if you want an example of this just look at Breath of the Wild glitches.

So, we would recommend you try this out if you have the chance. If only to take a look at wonderful vistas and environments.
